There is a risk that oil reaches the rear tire.
Worldwide have 17800 vehicles of the current series in the workshop in Germany are 4300 vehicles affected.
They are currently being written by BMW and invited to attend a workshop.
There the oil seal is to be secured by an additional mounting plate in his seat, confirmed BMW Motorrad's spokesman Rudi Probst on request from MOTORCYCLE online. Affected are the water-cooled BMW R 1200 GS the construction period 10/2012 up to 8/2013.
